DIRTBLONDE - single & Live Action!
Dirtblonde, the noisy duo from Liverpool, are back from a successful tour in Brazil, and will release their debut single, "The Hangmen" on 25th April.
The song has already been played by Steve Lamacq, and the single will be available for free download from the official website. Those who join the mailing-list and provide a postal address will get a free copy of the CD.
The band was chosen by BBC Liverpool as one of the top 5 Liverpool bands "most likely" to make it in 2005, and they have been attracting some attention and controversy since they started playing live in March 2004 (when they were thrown out of the prestigious Zanzibar club in Liverpool).
Recently, Channel 4's Ideas Factory website had a major feature on the band, which makes for entertaining reading:

Dirtblonde is not a band recommended for those who like baggy revivalism, retro rock, or macho bullshit that we're so used to(and tired of) these days. But if you like sincere, fucked-up rocknroll, and a good Sonic Youth/J&MC-style noise, this might just be the band you were waiting for.
