Some details of the next two exciting PopArt events. You lucky people.

POP-ART Presents... "PopArt Idol / Mr Solo single launch"

Sunday 1st July 2007.
at: Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, London WC1H 9EU. (tel: 020 7691 2610)

FREE ENTRY doors: 3pm till 11-ish

This month will see PopArt breaking new boundaries by hosting the first ever "PopArt Idol"... like Pop Idol but featuring indie acts battling for the grand prize... the last remaining slot on the PopArt Weekender bill. After their performance the acts will receive comments and criticism from a panel of judges including Mr. Solo (David Devant & His Spirit Wife) and JS Rafaeli (Bicycle Thieves). At the end of the evening there will be a ballot vote to declare the winner.

Fashion Plate Daddy (feat. Rat Scabies wot used to be in the Damned)

Candythief

PopArt Idol will then be followed by a headline set from Mr Solo. who is launching his new single.

Naturally dressing like a Capital Radio loving housewife is encouraged and our compare "Leicester's Funnyman" Dave Rees aka Ryan Sea-jest will be on hand providing cringe worthy gags and hosting the whole messy affair.

The venue also offers bowling and private karaoke rooms at additional cost .

Dom (Panic!), PhoeniX PhiL, Tamla Tim will also be spinning a fine mix of indiepop, alternative rock and classic pop from the DJ both.

And the winners of that go through to the big one - The PopArt Weekender That's Friday July 13-Sunday July 15th, and it'll be massive. It's our very own 3 day festival, featuring a host of excellent bands, DJs including Jon Hillcock from XFM, some excellent PopArt games and a whole lot more...
