The Long Blondes - Nottingham - Friday 4 March
For just £3 for members (£4 non) this Friday (thats the 4th March) you can see these three magnificent bands and then dance the night away at our High Juice club night at Junktion 7, Canning Circus, Nottingham.
Doors are at 9pm, first band on at 9.30, and we get kicked out around 1am.
The Long Blondes
"We first heard The Long Blondes on the 2004 Angular Records compilation and were forced to steal a track for our first foray into releasing records. The Blondes were beyond fantastic at Artrocker this week. Bridging the enormous gap between two of the most underrated bands of the past 30 years -Wire and Shocking Blue- and adding a pinch of The Shangri-las, their live set was the perfect balance of don't-fuck-with-me-aloofness and irresistible danceable girliness. If you can get hold of their new single 'Giddy Stratospheres' it'll be the best thing you've brought this year." Queens of Noize, NME

Champion Kickboxer
You might remember them from our first High Juice night, and now they're back! Think XTC, Super Furry Animals, Pavement and Syd Barret-ear Pink Floyd. But really, truely, Champion Kickboxer are just themselves.

Chuck
A Chuck performance is a heady mix of Pixies/Cramps trashy surf-punk and Elastica/Mclusky noise-pop. Add in a drop of Eastern Europan folk chanting for a fun packed evening!
"Rabble rousing stuff! A cracking record"..........Steve Lamacq, Radio 1 November 2003
"This is schizophrenic shit: Cossacks wrestle with Jowe Head fans wrestle with Link Wray conspiracy theorists for the keys to Punk Toy Cabinet. Sheffield's own Gogol Bordello (he remarks, somewhat obscurely)"..........Everett True, Loose Lips Sink Ships, Spring 2004

And if you want to listen to any of them, they all have lots of lovely free mp3s on their websites!
