End of the New, My Rocket 88 @ Spitz this Thursday
Contrary to what I said last week about us completing our busy run of London shows, this Thursday 3rd March end of the new are playing another, this time at the artfully trendy Spitz down the old east end. It's a cancellation show and we're on first, so get down early or you'll miss eotn trying to make a good first impression upon the promoters and sundry early-birds. We'd like to play the Spitz again, so the keenness will be palpable.
We’re on yay early at about 8pm and the address is:
109 Commercial St,
Old Spitalfields Market,
London
E1 6BG
The nearest tube is Liverpool Street.
All other info and Nat's delirious musings on current band events on www.endofthenew.com
For those who are interested, we've now made the whole of The Swedish Press EP available for download as mp3s from the site in anticipation of new recordings.

We're billed with My Rocket 88, Snakecharmer, Papyrus Pirates.
Snippets:
End of the New:
Art-school noise meets heavy, doomed soundscapes, punctuated by post-garage outbursts. EOTN write brittle melodic songs which build into full-on fuzz assaults, set against a dark travelogue of snowscapes, grinding aircraft engines and paranoid isolation.
They cite Sleater Kinney, Grant Hart and Desaparecidos as influences.
And probably Sonic Youth as well.
My Rocket 88:
Richard Cramp of John Peel favourites Garlic (Bella Union), Mike Newsham and Nick Simms (Cornershop) were joined by Rob Brown and Kate Rollins to form the band in London, Winter 2003. Nick had to leave the band to follow his music career and is replaced by Paul Mortimore on drums. Always Well recieved live, My Rocket 88 are currently playing venues accross London, with a UK tour in the pipeline.

Snakecharmer:
...a highly personal style that resonated hot clay and red wine. Interweaving their unique guitar sound, thunderous drums and hypnotic piano... (full biog on their site)
