RSVP aims to encourage social networking informally, in great spaces at their quarterly events. These provide a showcase for local talents from many crreative discplines (including art, design, dance, music, animation) and enable interconnectivity between individuals and organisations. The Online Creative Directory has examples of work (images, audio and video) in a searchable online directory with a central news updates blog. London's South East X creative community can join in by registering at http://www.rsvplondon.co.uk or face to face at the show!
ASSEMBLY NOW
Assembly Now live communally in a secret location with seven black cats and have been writing and playing together since January 005. They've been playing listed on Xfm, Radio 1 and 6Music, great reviews across the board. Their latest was dubbed a "classic waiting to blow" by NME. This show calls in on home turf on a UK tour that includes dates with The Noisettes and The Wombats.
BUTTONHEAD
The name is taken from years of recorded childhood ramblings, as are a few of the songs. The genre is intended to be marginal and ever-shifting, with lyrics inspired by car boot sales, psychotic woodland people, long-diseased corgis and unsung pagan shakers. http://www.rsvplondon.co.uk/buttonhead/
JAY HAMMOND
Once fronting the cool Lovell's Wharf, Jay Hammond now steps out into her own spotlight...
THE VEEZ
"pop-punk hooks and great choruses" (clash magazine) Since their first show (to a thousand Hawkwind fans!), they've helped inspire the thriving anti-scene, recorded with producer YOUTH (The Verve, Embrace, Primal Scream etc) and played Glastonbury. Last year they started their own club at London's Cube & Star. Bands started playing there (including Babyshambles) - The Veez don't follow trends, they start them. "The next great British all girl group?" - The Fly
SHARING SHEATHS
"Ew" (Drowned in Sound). Blood-stained frilled Siberian synth thrills. An awesome spectacle of feral electronica and vocal manipulation shocking dirty beats through dancing bodies. A must for those who like fun. Rocklands instigators
