Poppy Seed is Sophie and Alex. You may have seen Alex playing in Shooting Victor Francis and with Mark Jasper. This lot haven't been about very long, but I've heard plenty of lovely things in that short space of time. They've developed a stripped down lo-fi sound, but they also carry a strong pop sensibility. They also have a cheap sounding Casio keyboard tucked away on some of their tracks, which warms my heart everytime I hear it. Check out their tracks on the link.

Pete Green is a one man pop dispensing machine. He's our favourite pop troubadour. Once upon a time he was in a pretty nifty band called The Regulars, who released stuff on Bearos Records, but now he's flying solo. Delivering acoustic indiepop gems about important things, such as an ode to lower leagues journeyman footballer Phil Jevons, a song about questioning a bands reluctance to share their kit and another about why MySpace is shit. 7" out soon!
