Don't Start Feeling All "Romantic" and Tasty Fanzine present...

THE RETRO SPANKEES

They're DSFAR and Tasty Fanzine favourites from Northampton, and their live shows are brilliant. Up there on stage is an ironing board for a keyboard stand covered in toys, which tells you something about the distinct lack of seriousness present in the group. Songs with daft themes, lots of shouts, yelps and squeals from band members, and that sort of mental pop that stands out a mile against everything else. They've plenty in common with Mistys Big Adventure, Bearsuit and The Moldy Peaches. It's playschool rock 'n' roll!
LARDPONY

Are they Derby legends yet? Doing for keyboards and beards what Abba never did. Proper pop in the style of Grandaddy, Hefner and Pulp.
AMIDA

One of the stars of the hit indiepop comp 'Kids At The Club', from Manchester. They've wisely avoided sounding like they're from Manchester and have opted instead to go for the intelligent pop sound that reminds us of mix between Australian legends The Go-Betweens and something Stephen Malkmus would get involved in.
