King Furnace
www.myspace.com/kingfurnace
"There are many bands out there vying for your attention but I would recommend you try King Furnace as they have an eclectic style, rather than just another Coldplay/Arctic Monkeys clone. **** "- www.getreadytorock.com
"They're from Oxford, they sound like XTC meets blues rock and they make me dance all funny-like. How can that possibly be bad!?" - Black Listed website
Great Eskimo Hoax
www.myspace.com/greateskimohoax
Avant-garde, experimental but very listenable it's impressive and naively catchy. This has more hooks in its bag than the oldest of sea anglers as it glides effortlessly through a plethora of contemporary sounds and styles that have been sensitively and maturely locked together to defy logic.
The Quarter Finals
www.myspace.com/quarterfinals
The Quarter Finals are a young Oxford three-piece who play short, rocky, riffy and tuneful songs. Sounding a bit like Supergrass. Or the Kinks. Theyve supported the absolutely massive Arctic Monkeys and the quite big Young Knives, The Paddingtons and Dogs. And theyre bloody marvellous. .
And No Star
www.myspace.com/andnostar
And No Star blast through a set that sounds like an instrumental Murder of Rosa Luxemburg being chased over an obstacle course by the ex-members of The Edmund Fitzgerald, coming to a terrific climax in 'Handclaps and Heckles.'
