BATTLE : Battle have come a long way in the last couple of years and this year, played SXSW ("The Best Thing There" said The Sun) and headlined shows in both LA and New York. Theyhit the Top 40 singles chart with Tendency and now find themselves being tipped in various quarters for greatness. Excitingly there is an LP on the horizon. It will be previewed by the release of an EP - BACK TO EARTH recorded this Summer. ‘One More Night’ / ‘I Never Stopped’ / ‘Selfish To The Core’ / ‘Easy To Listen To’. When Battle crash into the national consciousness with the unveiling of what will be one of the most praised debut albums of 006, they’ll reap the rewards for the fierce determination, infinite creativity and focused ambition that the quartet have invested in their band to date. They return to Lewisham - very much part of their story. One not to miss. http://www.myspace.com/thisisbattle + http://www.thisisbattle.com
Support is from two of South East London's fellow rising star newer wave favourites...
CHET : Described as "A great slice of rock. Like The Himalayas are a great slice of rock". The twin tuned exhaust of the vocals combined with the over the top melody of the synthometre located just above the bass sprocket under the bonnet to the left is what makes Chet such a renowned and popular choice of machine. Chet are one of the UK's "more different and interesting" prospects. John Kennedy of Xfm's Demo Of The Month in July. "This band have songs, big songs that you can imagine played in arenas, with thousands singing along". (Spill Magazine).

WILLIAM : “They stumble and slip occasionally but never fall, lurching between wall-of-sound frenzy and sweetly picked melody.” (Drowned In Sound). Aperture/Five Minute Wonder on Tough Love Records a few months ago was a wake up call of a debut single. “Urgent angular guitars, Gavin William’s frenzied yelps and some winning razor sharp melodies combine to create the true beauty that is ‘Five Minute Wonder’.” (New Noise). They are not about glitz and glamour- this is real, heartfelt, whether shout or croon. A trio that sound like an army. William. It is really something.
