Dark cynicism clouded the blogosphere upon Trilogy’s announcement. But for an artist who, through the nuclear fusion of angelic MJ vocals with post-808s & Heartbreak melancholia successfully pushed urban music worldwide to dive headfirst into its Emo moment, to (god forbid!) actually make some dinero to go with the acclaim shouldn’t be an issue in the slightest: certainly so when this compilation still unquestionably possesses some of the finest R&B songs of the new millennium.
