Now Closed: Win tickets to Field Day! Or to DiS' five favourite festivals + £1000!
sean by Sean Adams May 25th, 2010

UPDATED: This competition is now closed!

Festivals, festivals, festivals! The summer is nearly here and the line-ups are looking really special so we thought some of you might like to win some tickets?

DrownedinSound.com has teamed up with the folks at BlackBerry® Messenger to offer you and a friend the chance to have the summer of your life. You will travel across the country to our hand-picked five favourite festivals where you can catch awesome live shows from some of the makers of our albums of 2009 (including Phoenix, Fever Ray and Grizzly Bear), some of our acts of 2010 (Vampire Weekend, The National, Gil-Scott Heron, LCD Soundsystem, Jonsi (Sigur Ros), Futureheads, Hot Chip, These New Puritans, Laura Marling, Besnard Lakes); some historic heroes (Flaming Lips, Roxy Music, Belle & Sebastian) and that's not to mention waking up to catch your choice of the hundreds of fresh-faced new bands or watching the sun set with distinguished cult figures (hello The Fall!). If all that sounds like too much music (if there is such a thing?), you can wander into woods, passing pink sheep and sit down at the back of tents to hear authors like Brett Easton Ellis or comedians including Richard Herring, to name just two. Then there's poetry, films and, er, even some opera and ballet, if the mood takes you.

And, and and.... even if you're not the lucky one who wins, we have heaps of great runner-up prizes! Plus, plus, plus... there's a special weekly give-away for BlackBerry® Messenger users.

So, without further ado, here is the low-down on what is up for grabs and how you can enter for the chance to get your face looking as elated as this for several weekends this summer...
