The 1st Drowned In Sound Tour! WiN ViP TiX!
sean by Sean Adams October 27th, 2001
Dear Reader,
Sean, director of dis here... Just thought I better warn you that we have given up just running this site. We have crazily dog-damn-gone-and-done-it and arranged a tour featuring bands we've been raving about for a while. People have been listening to our passionate ramblings, prooving how right we are! [aren't we ALWAYS? hehe] Evidence comes in the form of headliners Miss Black America since their first reviews on this site they have done a John Peel session, signed to Integrity Records and been reviewed in everywhere from The Guardian to the NME. The tour also features Antihero, Engerica and the criminally unknown Exhibit A (my favourite band at the moment!). Not all the bands appear at all the shows, sadly, and we've not managed to cover the entire country but this is only our first tour, we will attempt another one around Easter next year..

The dates are as follows:

OCTOBER:
Sunday 28th: Portsmouth Horseshoe MBA Only
Wednesday 31st: Bury St Edmunds The Grapes Acoustic show. No Exhibit A or Engerica.

NOVEMBER:
Thursday 1st: Norwich Ferryboat No Engerica
Friday 2nd: Ipswich Steamboat No Engerica
Saturday 3rd: Cambridge Boat Race No Engerica
Sunday 4th: Bury St Edmunds The Break No Exhibit A or Engerica
Wednesday 7th: Bournemouth Villa + Tex La Homa. No Antihero or Engerica
Thursday 8th: Bristol Louisiana No Engerica
Saturday 10th: London Kentish Town Bull & Gate MBA Only
Sunday 11th: Harlow Square No Exhibit A
Monday 12th: Stourbridge Rock Cafe No Engerica or Exhibit A
Tuesday 13th: Stratford Cask & Bottle No Engerica or Exhibit A
Wednesday 14th: Nottingham Old Vic No Exhibit A
Saturday 17th: Leicester Shed MBA Only
Sunday 18th: London Soho Spice Bar (Drowned in Sound all dayer)
Tuesday 20th: Sheffield Boardwalk.MBA Only

We expect the tour to show people that we know what we're talking about, as well as entertain the shoes'n'socks off of those who already know the score. YEAH YOU! We value your support and because of that, we're offering 5 pairs of tickets (well, it'll be more of a ViP pass guestlist type thing - you can meet the bands and even Sean the editor of Drownedinsound if you insist!) to the shows of your choice, plus an exclusive compilation cd featuring all the bands from the tour. To enter, simply tell us what you like, love and hate about this site in an e-mail to comps@drownedinsound.com. Easy-peasy! [bribes gladly accepted]

Also, you or someone you know may be able to help us. We are looking for people to help flyer and put up a few posters or just generally spread the word about the above shows. We have no budget whatsoever, I'm paying for making the flyers instead of buying xmas pressies this year. Dis doesn't make money and the tour has been set-up to cover costs, money isn't that important anyway. What we can do in return for your luvverly help is gratutitously shove you a few promo's, get you into the gig of your choice for free and you'll also get more good karma than you'd ever imagine possible - I'd offer my heart, body and mind but none of them are worth that much. If you can help please mail sean@drownedinsound.com

See you there, I'm trying to make it to as many of the shows as possible.
Peace'n'Rawk!
Sean xxx
p.s. Exhibit A have an mp3 @ http://stage.vitaminic.co.uk/exhibit_a/ if you're curious why I am making such a fuss about them.
