Surfers Get Their Buttholes In Gear
rubbafish by Colin Weston July 16th, 2001
American alternative band Butthole Surfers have their new album in the can... 5 years after their last one.

The band have been going for 20 years and have had bands such as Nirvana play support to them and were quite major players in the 90's 'alternative' scene.

For the past 5 years, despite their absence, the band have been very active... in their solo roles anyway.

Gibby (Haynes) was a DJ on an Austin, Texas radio rock show, Paul (Leary) produced albums by the likes of The Meat Puppets & King (Coffey) worked on his own label, Trance Syndicate, label to The Cherubs & Starfish.

But now they are back.. and ready to go again.

Their new album is titled 'The Weird Revolution' and will be released on August 28th. 'Electriclarryland' was their last release back in 1996, and also the year they released the single that broke them mainstream, 'Pepper.'

The new album will be released on indie label Hollywood/Surfdog after the band left their old label Capitol Records.
