Kristin Hersh announces free London instore
John_Brainlove by John Brainlove January 4th, 2007

The spooky, surreal, wise and weary songstress Kristin Hersh is to play a free gig at the Tottenham Court Road branch of the Fopp chain store this January 16th at 7pm.

She will be performing tracks from the brand new album Learn to Sing Like a Star, released on 29th January. Hopefully it's not an X-Factor contestant self-help album.

Hersh has been quietly making brilliant music for over a decade now, and was the frontwoman of Throwing Muses and 50 Foot Wave in addition to her solo output. This is a good chance to see her play her more stripped down songs - her gigs usually sell out months in advance.

Fopp’s flagship Tottenham Court Road store is home to a fully licensed venue/bar and café area, and events are apparently sometimes subject to change and cancellation. But let's hope not this time, eh.
