It's the weekend! Time for TWO DiS parties...!
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver November 17th, 2006

Excited? Us? Yes! Always!

When we're not either stuck late at the office or drunk (sometimes we're both), the good people of DiS - hello, us! - are quite the show bookers. This weekend we've two quite different gigs for you, but both feature the very, very best in brand-new music.

Tonight, at London's Barfly (Chalk Farm Road, Camden), we present an evening of dancing shoes and free-flowing booze, soundtracked by safetyword and the gonna-be-massive Los Campesinos! upstairs and a variety of DiS-approved DJs, including us, downstairs. Doors open at 10.30, and it's gonna be rammed, so if you're buying on the night arrive early. Tickets are eight quid on the door.

You can add yourself to this show using the DrownedinSound.com gig calendar, here.

We'll kick you all out around three in the am - don't worry, kebab shops are still open at that time. And don't worry about the hangover, either, as we've the perfect cure...

The very next day - i.e. tomorrow, Saturday November 18 - we present a DiScover Club @ RoTa, starring a wealth of quiet-ish folk-ish post-rock-ish bands certain to sooth the burn of the previous night's excess. This is a FREE afternoon show, running from four until eight at Notting Hill Arts Club. It's an over-18s only event, and like the Barfly show we expect it to be quite the crowded. Why? Because of this great bill:

DiS DJs will be on hand, too, to provide sweet sounds between, before and after the acts. Be sure to check out those DiScover features for insights into the acts' music.

And on Sunday... we'll sleep. Yep. Zzzzz...

Are you coming to either show, though? Excited like we are!? We hope so...!
