Chart gossip for your coffee break
Lorelei_22 by Laurel Dreher April 20th, 2005
Alright, this one goes out to all you chart-stalkers out there....

So, this weekend's Top 40 list looks like it's going to see a slew of guitar bands coming in with Hard Fi, Caesars, Editors, The Cribs, and The Rakes all contributing various entries. There were a few surprises in the physical & download sales, as Elvis took the No. 1 slot with 'Way Down,' bumping Tony Christie and Peter Kay from the top. But, never fear...gossip (via recent sales figures) says 'Amarillo' could be back on the top by the weekend due to Elvis' sales dipping.

In other genres, Nine Inch Nails and their 'The Hand That Feeds' will be competing for a spot in the top three, with BodyRockers 'I Like the Way' breaking into the Top 10.

As far as albums go, Razorlight get a gold star for being class achievers after 'Up All Night' looks to jump into the Top 10 from its previous position at #46 (for those of us who aren't good at maths, like me, that's a sales increase of nearly 150%). The band's current single 'Somewhere Else' hit No. 2 last week.

Lastly, after Channel 4's Sunday night program, '100 Greatest Albums', it looks like older material from Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Nirvana, Massive Attack, Coldplay, and The Beach Boys will see a new day in the Top 75.

That is all...
