Forget 'Ground Force'... This is REAL Decking
rubbafish by Colin Weston May 22nd, 2001
Indie-cum-dance band, Stereo MC's, are giving people the chance to remix a track from their new album.

A special virtual mixing desk is available at the Stereo MC's site. The person who has their track chosen will have it played on Radio 1 and win a day at Island Records.

The track to be remixed is 'Deep Down And Dirty'. The winner will be chosen by the band themselves.

On a seperate note.....

Think you are hot shit on the wheels of steel? PROVE IT!!!

Tommy Boy Records (who had Liverpool indie kings Space on their label) are holding a DJ'ing competition with the first prize being the chance to represent the UK in the World DJ Championships.

Tommy Boy Records are sponsoring the 2001 DMC/Technics UK DJ Championships.

Details for the heats are as follows :-

May 23 - Bristol The Rock £7/5
June 3 - Birmingham Medicine Bar £5
June 5 - Brighton Tuesday Concorde 2 £7/5

The grand final is to be held July 20 at the Shepherds Bush Empire. Tickets are charged at £10.

Please note, due to circumstances beyond our control, the first 3 heats (in Edinburgh, London and Manchester) were already held before this article was uploaded. Sorry.
