forum condolence etiquette

countzero [Edit] [Delete] 18:53, 7 June '07

ok.

I visit a couple of forums and over the last year or so a few regular posters have died...

One guy was acutally brutally murdered.

Someone would put a post telling poeple that so and so passed away or in one case posta link to the news story. Now, naturally condolence messaegs kept on pouring in.

However, I jsut didnt't know what to type. And because these forums were so narrow in interest i thought it might be a bit insultign writing a message like "yes..and he contributed so much to our understanding of midi device control via c++". That may be true, but shit..this is a whole life.

Anyone been in this position. What would you do?
