ok i have a song which has this midi part, but what ive done is recorded it onto an audio track and put a distortion effect on it. All good so far.

Now is there any way to play a midi part live, but route it through an effect? For live performances n stuff, using cubase preferably but if anyone knows how to do it on fruity loops or something i'm all ears!

Also i have spent the last hour just changing the volume on a bass part up and down, sound levels are a bitch.
