In 'Jedi', the wee Ewoks take C3PO to be some kind of god.

and i SWEAR that you see a statue of his head at some point in the background somewhere.

someone is disputing this fact. and i can't remember and won't get to watch it till at least tomorrow.

and, if there is a statue - what are the explanations?

- did they build it quicksmart? or
- is he really a 'chosen one' of theirs, like yer man from Dune? or
- do you think C3PO is supposed to have gone there pre-mind erasing and had adventures which made them worship him?
