Shirley the most ludicrous side issue to come out of this horrible story?

I find it pretty laughable that there's this hysteria in the media about the connection between Oldboy and a couple of screenshots from the video sent to NBC. And it seems to today be deflecting attention from the real issues.

To reduce it to simplistic terms, even if Oldboy had never been made, you would still have a nutjob on the loose with easy access to guns.

any thoughts on this?
