I think they tend to add a lot. What do bands do? Do they go find some old man conductor and say do a "George Martin bit here...and here." I know a lot of bands these days do it in-house, so to speak, but methinks there're still a lot of bands who contract session London Symphony Orchestra blokes and blokettes to do it.
