Your first music heroes

SeymourMBA [Edit] [Delete] 12:34, 22 May '07

By which I mean, the first music you loved when you were a kid, no matter how uncool!

Mine were:

Madness - my Dad bought 'Baggy Trousers' on 7" when I was 1 or 2 and I made him play it again and again and again...

Shakin' Stevens - I thought 'This Ole House' was the coolest thing EVER. Especially the video, where he jumped off of an old house (which, apparently, was in Lowestoft. Rock n roll!).

Chas & Dave - When I was about a year old, my favourite song not by Madness was 'Rabbit', or, as I called it, 'I Got A Wabbit A Saysbree'.

Adam Ant - I used to pretend to be Adam Ant in the 'Stand & Deliver' video by throwing myself repeatedly onto the sofa. This somehow made perfect sense at the time.

Eurythmics - the video for 'Sweet Dreams' terrified me so much that I felt compelled to listen to the 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Be Yourself Tonight' albums EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for about 5 years.

Captain Beaky and his Band - I still know all the words to this. And 'Ice Ice Baby'. And 'Turtle Power', come to think of it. But, alas, not 'Awesome Dood' by Edd The Duck.
