Best albums to start with?

Basically, I only listen to indie music that's from the last few years, with the exception of Pavement. As an effort to listen to some of the older stuff, can you suggest the best album by these bands (or suggest a different band):

Sonic Youth
Pixies
Built To Spill
Guided By Voices
Silver Jews
Sebadoh
