what is everyones obsession with 'new' music,

shallwesetbenonfire [Edit] [Delete] 20:58, 9 May '07

when old music is (generally) so much better?

obviously if you're considering live music, then its great to hear unsigned bands making an amazing noise and 'rocking out' in some little venue. usually much more fun than an established act playing to thousands of people in some massive cave of a venue.

but in a recorded format, i'd much rather get in to a band thats been around a few years, got a couple of quality albums in the bag, and are still writing 'choons'.

this is one of the reasons why music radio pisses me off. by focussing on 'new' music, they end up playing an aweful lot of shite that will be forgotten within the year.

bah, im off to sulk in a corner and listen to nick cave.
