I've got no idea what I mean by Outsider Pop but that seems the best description of the music I want to put on.

I've got the next 2 or 3 months pretty much booked up already but I'm trying to build up a comprehensive list of bands I could maybe put on. I've got some way on this myself but wanted to start a thread to try and get some more recommendations

To give an idea of the kind of bands I'm after it's basically anything original, catchy, entertaining, lyrically interesting etc. I have a pretty loose definition of pop music.

Well-known acts I really like include Nick Cave, Belle & Sebastian, Pulp, Scott Walker, Suede, Leonard Cohen, Hefner, Flaming Lips, prime-era Divine Comedy, Super Furry Animals, the Broken Family Band, the Polyphonic Spree and numerous others whereas newer acts I like include Tim Ten Yen, David Cronenberg's Wife, the Bobby McGees, Horsebox, Friends of the Bride, the Indelicates and several others.

Venues I've put/am putting nights on at include so far are the Good Ship and the George Tavern, if that gives you an idea of the size of bands I'm after.

Anyway I'd massively appreciate your help!
