OK, so I'm flipping through the channels on telly. Only in America we call the television a TV. Since there was nothing interesting on BBCAmerica ;-) (How NOT to Decorate Your House - er, gimme a break!) I turned to see what was popular in the US music scene by catching a Top 20 video countdown. Frankly, I'd not heard of most of the bands. And as long you guys keep pointing me to worthwhile stuff, I don't care. Still haven't got that Clor album doncha know.

Anyway, on comes this Nickleback band called Hinder. They've a Top 10 hit apparently and they're utter shit. But that's not my point. I expected Hinder to be shit. Here's my point:

*How is it we're able to recognize cock rock shit in 14 seconds?* (Whereas, say, this Icarus Line album I'm listening to right now rocks my world!)

I mean, they use guitars just like a good band might. Probably have a drummer that can keep time. Maybe it was the singer sounding like the guy from Creed that put me right off, I dunno. But it wasn't because they were dressed like those creepy kids from Fall Out Boy. And yet in 14 seconds flat I knew Hinder was complete shit.
