LONDON THIS SUNDAY - Trencher, Twentysixfeet, Akira, Chik Budo and Matthew Rozeik

WRECK [Edit] [Delete] 13:17, 25 April '07

"Features impossibly excellent bands for minimal buck." - Drownedinsound

Hello there.
Akira and Twentysixfeet humbly request the pleasure of your company this Sunday afternoon.
For over a year now we have been putting on WRECK events around london that show off the best of new, forward-thinking guitar music. Past bands who have played include Acoustic Ladyland, Kill Kenada, Popular Workshop, The Rock Of Travolta and Optimist Club.
Painstakingly and with no amount of small care we have composed our best ever show for this weekend. Kicking off at 4pm on Sunday, the best of London's left-field underground scene will be exploding twisted sounds and shapes over anyone lucky enough to find themselves in the cool basement air of Soho's Punk.
WHAT? / WHEN / WHERE?

WRECK 11

Punk, 14 Soho Street, London W1D 3DN

Sunday, April 29th. 4pm – 9pm

WHO?

TRENCHER (www.trencher.tk )
A trio of keyboard-wrecking, drum-smashing, bass mangling punks. The first (and possibly only!) purveyors of what has been called 'Casiocore'.
TWENTYSIXFEET (www.twentysixfeet.net)
Take in dubsteb, post-hardore and whatever other genres they please on their way to the pulsing heart that lies at the core of their laptop. Then let a cherub from the mountains of Wales sing over what they come up with.
AKIRA (www.akiraband.com)
After a few months in the lab with Ian Carter from XL's Various Productions ( www.various.co.uk), Akira re-emerge with a sound that joins the dots between post-rock, hi-life and pop. They'll melt your heart then melt your face.
CHIK BUDO ( www.chikbudo.com)
Xerox Teens-endorsed, saxophone driven punk that gets the party started. A truly singular entity amongst the legions of dance punk bands that have beseiged the nation's capital.
MATTHEW ROZIEK ( www.matthewroziek.com)
Signed to Highpoint Lowlife, Matt's otherworldly blend of organic guitars, strings and laptop fireworks never disappoints.
Would be great to see you there. If you think this is any cop (which we suspect you will), we'd love for you to tell someone about it. Or maybe tell a lot of people about it.
At any rate, we hope you are okay.
