HATE! --- ROCK! --- TRIO!

-gen- [Edit] [Delete] 14:38, 17 April '07

HTRK + Underground Railroad + John & Jehn + TODD dj.

This Sunday 22 April, at the Luminaire. £6 advance [wegottickets.com] or £7 on the door.

Worth every. fucking. penny.

HTRK = black-hearted fuzzed-out deathpop pre-electrofilth forced through a blender with [heart]broken blades. Rowland S. Howard [him out of the Birthday Party] likes em so much he produced and played guitar on their debut record. They're putting out the perversely noisy 'Nostalgia' through Fire Records.

Underground Railroad are a 3-piece that make the noise of a 6-piece. Phenomenal drummer, rusty-edged SY/Velvets cracked melodies, tornadic [I decree it a word] live show.

John & Jehn are a boy & a girl from France. They sound like Gainsbourg, Sons & Daughters, the Cramps. They have a Farfisa that goes 'bomp bomp bomp bomp bomp-ba-DAAA' down a rickety scale, while they dart in & out of each other's faces, flicking out sooty, impish hooks punctuated by yelps, defiant shouts and a sense of glee. They're ace.
