Brief Band History:
Formed 2 years ago, in Carmarthen west Wales. Last year been most productive- played loads of gigs across Wales and London, recorded debut album for self financed record label. Album titled `Screen Memories` is available on Microgram records, distributed by Shellshock. Played as support to Coldplay in BBC RADIO1 ONE LIVE IN CARDIFF. Currently working on an ep for esteemed Welsh label ANKSTmusik for release after christmas.
Influences:
Cornelius, Turtles, DJ Premier, DJ Shadow, Talk Talk, Super Furry Animals, Gorkys Zygotic Mynci, Art Blakey, Bill Evans, old electro records, new stuff like Mogwai and Grandaddy. This list could go on and on- this is just Iwans opinion - the rest will probably slate me for these.
Life changing albums?
'Mezzanine' by Massive Attack - total collision of music and non musicians (which is what i am), 'In a silent way' by Miles Davis - incredble rushes of emotion, feels like taking a bus across the atlantic, 'Endtroducing' by DJ Shadow - the ultimate cut up record, 'Spirit of Eden' by Talk Talk - layers of sound and emotion, 'Georges Moustaki' by Georges Moustaki - 'foreign music is shit' - very very wrong - folk music which is light years ahead production and sound wise.
