The Motorettes are a band from the North East England coastal town of Tynemouth. The band comprises Jack, Dan & Robin. They were signed to Kitchenware Records with Editors. They released their debut single "Super Heartbeats" on January 23, 2006. Super Heartbeats was the xfm single of the week^{[citation needed]}. The Motorettes extensively toured the UK throughout 2006. This included joint-headline dates in July with Kubichek!. In June 2007 drummer Jed Laidlaw left the Motorettes and was replaced by Daniel Rose-Troup who then subsequently left shortly after. The Motorettes played the Freevolution festival in Newcastle on may day 2007.
