After meeting through a series of friendships, sufferkiss formed in Nottingham on Valentines Day 2001 as an antidote to all the lifeless bands that seem to be dominating the music.

None of us knew anything about being in a band, but we all needed to be in a band we could get excited about and that could show the world just what it was missing; Passion, honesty, energy and conviction!

After being together for only 9 months, the band signed their first publishing deal and recorded two tracks at The Magic Garden with producer Gavin Monoghan (The Jesus and Mary Chain, Carina Round).

We're not trying to "break boundaries" and we're not "fusing styles". The only people who care about any of those things are self-obsessed musical w*nkers!

In April 2002, sufferkiss track Alone in the Rain with a Gun was released through underground label Dental Records. This release was followed in June with My Disguise released on indiecent-exposure. However, it’s in the live performances that the band really shines! Since forming they’ve played countless gigs across the country and received rave reviews!
