Formed in January 2004, SATISFACTION is a new band.

Summer 2003- For three friends, several afternoons spent kicking new musical ideas around on a trashed acoustic guitar and a Rhodes piano in between hot tubs and episodes of "The Office" yielded something worth forming a band around: a few songs and a scattered, vague sound concept — The Zombies playing Van Halen, Mars Volta playing Pet Sounds, DEVO playing Harry Nielsen, Bowie playing The Blood Brothers, Plastic Ono Band playing Wings (Are you still reading this?!) — though, they would soon refine their sound and develop something all their own. Michael Rosas (vocals/guitar) and brothers Matthew Fletcher (keyboards) and James Fletcher (drums) needed a bassist to realize their design. The word quickly went out to friends and fellow Los Angeles area musicians and soon made its way to Aaron Wahlman. The four clicked immediately, of course, as bands always do.. right?

The new band took to their cramped rehearsal space daily, quickly writing and arranging enough material to take to the stage. By mid January they had nine complete songs and were nearly ready to book their first live show, but first they were to overcome the tedious task of naming the group. Just a week before their debut, amidst a night of drunkenness, near black eyes, and vetoed names such as Advanced Hamburger, Deep Throat, and Nirvana 2, the band was officially named SATISFACTION. Their first ever live performance was on February 2nd 2004, the first of a month-long residency at the trendy Costa Mesa venue, Detroit Bar, which has hosted a number of exclusive word-of-mouth shows by artists such as Stereolab, Elliott Smith, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Modest Mouse. SATISFACTION quickly had people talking and, by the third night, had broken attendance records at the small club by packing it full of curious music fans, scenesters, and 20-30 something year old "kids" carrying bags with cute monkeys embroidered on them.

Things were going well. Their next move was to put a few songs to tape. The sessions that followed were carried out as quickly and raw sounding as possible, so as to achieve an honest representation of their on-stage sound. These recordings are now available on CD as their four song demo.

A mixture of The Eels & Rooney make these guys an interesting blend with what we think may be a bright future ahead of them.
