Bio
If you mentioned the name Montana Pete to anyone it would most definitely conjure up an image of an old, bearded, country and western singer sitting in a rocking chair strumming his guitar. In fact, Montana Pete are an underground Tooting based band that have been together since 1994, whose music is a mixture of punk, funk and rock with some meaty hooklines and a heavy guitar sound to round the spikey edges.
They say their sound is "A monkey puzzle. Perfectly danceable and fairly haphazard." Others say they can hear the fall or early Wire, Fugazi or Chris Knox in there. Kris Wilms of L'entrepo fanzine simply sums them up in a sentence, "powerful, dynamic, intelligent and creative. I want more!!!"
