Bio
A band, in the experience of many, is a carefully and deliberately selected group of people (often not close friends) bent on acheiving a pre-existing sound, look, attitude. Many bands only exist in the practise room and on the stage and are keen to delegate the other things that come along with playing to roadies, agents, managers etc. Moneytree however is nearer to a nerdy club than most peoples conception of a band. This is a club which evolved naturally, a club which deals with all of it's responsibilities itself, a club whose members come together to trade music from myriad styles and eras, but most of all to celebrate friendship.
In the nine years that this band have known each other it's different members have found themselves in such varying walks of life as a student at cambridge, a door to door salesman, a community youth worker and other ventures which shall not be mentioned;
They have been seperated by living in different towns, by the anglo-welsh border and even the atlantic ocean but have still endeavoured to come together to do little more than to listen to Fugazi and Stevie Wonder, to Deftones and Herbie Hancock, to Owls and Prince, to Queen and Ernest Ranglin, to Gang of Four, Jurassic 5, Take Six, Zero Seven, to merseybeat and breakbeat, to geek rock and cool jazz, to stoner rock and straight edge.
These boys allow anything that remains true to itself and a love of music to influence their own music and to those who would argue this makes their music unfocussed or non-commital, the band would like to extend their humblest apologies, for they do not look like stopping any time soon.
