Bio
Offstage, Miocene are quiet, happy to argue amongst themselves and prone to smoke as much weed as possible without simply floating away;onstage, however, it’s a different story, with the switch on the band’s angry machine lodged securely in the ‘on’ position. To watch Miocene live is to watch a band feeding off its own energy.
Miocene are set to release a new six-track, 40-minute Ep on March 11th. Titled ‘Cellular Memory’ and recorded by Harvey Birrell at Southern Studios in North London. As longstanding lovers of artists such as Massive Attack, Square-pusher & DJ Shadow, ‘Cellular Memory’- recorded spontaneously, and with cello, clarinet & french horn thrown into the musical melee for the first time – sees Miocene exploring, experimenting and eroding as many preconceptions as possible. Whilst all the time retaining the organic feel and emotive drive that has characterised their particular take on the rock ’n’ roll dream since day one.
Miocene are:
Alex – bass & reality
Ben - voice & words
Graham – guitars & technological manipulation
Leo – drums & soul
