Bio
From Iceland to Italy via Weston Super-Mare, Lorien channel a wealth of diverse experiences to forge some of the most inventive, elegant and fragile music you will hear.
Their debut album 'Under The Waves' is released early in 2002.
Comprising Italian born vocalist/guitarist Fabio, a tall good looking bloke from Iceland called Einar on guitars and former 'Golden Sunbed' delivery boy Carlo on drums, Lorien formed in February '98.
Following a series of low key gigs the band were approached for managementby Stevo - head honcho of leftfield label 'Some Bizarre' and infamous manager of Soft Cell and Cabaret Voltaire. Lorien subsequently signed to Instant Karma early in 2000.
Lorien aren't like most bands: take the soaring decadence of their new single 'Ghostlost'. As they gather momentum there'll be the inevitable comparisons with Coldplay and Starsailor - any act who, like Lorien, don't need to blow their amps in order to weave luscious anthems of love and loss, awe and excitement. But their musical chemistry is easily (if deceptively) explained when Fabio names his biggest influences: old blues, Billie Holliday, U2 and Edith Piaf.
