Locus of Control were formed in 2002 in the tiny Welsh town of Crickhowell, Powys. Drawing on influences as diverse as the Cure, Guns n’ Roses, the Doors, Pantera, Alice in Chains and the Manics, people have unsuccessfully tried to place the band in every genre from post rock to post-hardcore to prog metal.
Locus spent the next two years playing shows wherever anyone would have them. This included gigs with the likes of Jarcrew, Vanilla Pod, Murder One, Midasuno, Miss Black America and Fallen To, as well as tours with Goldfinger, ThisGirl and Antihero.
In early 2004 Locus’ hardworking ethic attracted the attentions of Alpha Engineering Records and the band signed a deal. Their debut single ‘The Comfort of Repetition’ is scheduled for release on June 14 2004.
