Sean Stewart and Nigel Yang, both ex-members of Portraits of Hugo Perez formed hTRKRTIO in 2003 in Melbourne and changed their name as HTRK when singer and percussionist Jonnine Davis at the end of that year.

Citing such major influences as the electronic music label Mego, The Birthday Party, Krautrock, David Lynch and Suicide, hTRKRTIO combined highly textured guitar noise with groove-laden basslines and simple drum machine patterns.

HTRK released an EP in January 2005 entitled Nostalgia and an album Marry Me Tonight will be launched in Australia in February 2007.

HTRK, now based in Berlin, are currently seeking record labels to release the album in Europe and the US.
