Bio
Friday’s Ghost formed in Liverpool in 2004, when the singer moved in next to the guitarist who already knew the rest of the band from Leeds. They started practising in a basement in Anfield, (the area, not the football ground) and began writing songs together.
From this original set, the band scrapped the ones which they thought weren’t good enough and wrote a new batch of material which began to display the band's intricate sense of dynamics and melody, eager to leave nothing mediocre or predictable in their songs. After gigs in Liverpool and Leeds, the band decided they could do better and again tweaked their set to include only the strongest compositions.
A second set of gigs in Liverpool in 2005, saw a tighter, more explosive sound develop and the band now have a more confident sound and stage presence. Friday’s Ghost are influenced by hundreds of bands, some of which include:At the drive-in, Cypress Hill, Interpol, Mogwai, Radiohead, The Pixies, but are eager to sound unique.
Summer 2005 saw the band move in together, resulting in one huge house of rock. They are continuing to develop their sound, and through the magic of the internet are collecting new listeners all over the country. Tracks from their debut EP can be found on both their Myspace and official sites. Splendid. 'Mon the Ghost.
