Bio
Duke Raoul is:
Alex Painter- Vocals, guitar.
Jack Cheshire- Bass.
Karl Penney- Drums.
The three members of Duke Raoul are waiting in the wings, poised in the darkness, ready to steal into the murky world and take on the thieves and whores. Energy, emotion, power and beauty nestle amongst rarely found virtues such as intelligence and innovation in their diverse collection of songs.
It has been three years since they met after they left their respective hometowns around the UK and set down in Manchester. Something has been bubbling under the surface and occasionally leaking over the top for a while now.
A regular live fixture with a regular crowd, Duke Raoul reel in glowing reviews from a river of underground press and reap fans from an unusually diverse field of characters. Fans of post-rock, punk, and post-hardcore find themselves sharing a sticky floor and watery beer with devotees of indie, jazz and other antithetical genres.
They recently appeared on the Public Service Broadcast 2 unsigned compilation from Jetplane Landing’s underground independent label Smalltown America spreading the Duke Raoul sound to a wider field of passionate music fanatics. Welcome them into your hearts and bones.
