Morning Star is Jesse D Vernon . Sometimes, the band's called Morningstar and sometimes it's Morningstar Trio, or Morningstar Small Orchestra or Morningstar Skiffle Band. Jesse write the arrangements and some of the songs . Since it started in 1997 the band has included musicians from Bristol, Paris, Tokyo, Bordeaux, Brussels and Montreal.

Morning Star has released three albums, Morningstar ( 1999 Swarf Inger Records ), My place in the dust ( 2001 Sink and Stove Records )and The Opposite Is True ( 2004 disco-ordination records ), with music from country blues to folk, from howling ballads to classic bossa melodies.

Jesse has recently settled in Paris and will soon release his fourth album long way round.
