-ism

Bio

Band member(s) names / role in the band:
Renny Carroll - Singer
Jovan Stojsavljevic - Guitarist
Terry Pepper - Bassist
Tom Crux - Drums

Brief Band History:
-ism was formed in November 1999 by Renny and Stojj and soon made 2 member changes: 1 in March where the then bassist Laurence was asked to leave the band and made way for Terry, who is still in the band. The 4 (with Russell Barnes as drummer at the time) then went to Amber Studios and recorded a somewhat.... shite demo called 'Dream with Me'. A month after this was recorded the band decided to get a drummer who could rehearse more because an hour Monday and an hour on Thursday was not enough for the amount of ambition that -ism had. And so Tom Crux then joint as drummer. An Iron Maiden fanatic by heart, he was an instant hit and fit right in to things. And then it came, having not even played a gig, Renny received an email from a producer by the name of Simon "Spud" Beggs who offered the band a production deal over 3 years.... (The first demo under him has just been finished and is entitled 'MomentarylapseofReason'. ). Then having had this boost of confidence, and having him at practices to help fine tune the songs that they had written, they had their first gig on the 2nd June at the Hermit in Brentwood. It was highly successful and -ism had their first taster of playing to an audience. More gigs followed and on the 21st of September the demo was finally released, and all copies were sold on the night, with more people still wanting one... we thant went onto appear in Metal Hammer, and played with Lost Prophets (couple of weeks back)

Influences:
Sevendust, Deftones, Glassjaw, Kurt Cobain (Terry anyway!), Iron Maiden (Tom).

Life Changing Albums:
None of them really changed my life, but alot of them certainly hit me for how good they were. Namely both Sevendust's albums. I realised the beauty of the 1 chord riff!!!

Stojj: stojj@youpy.com
Tom: tomcrux@cableinet.co.uk

Future Plans:
A gig is lined up for may 25th supporting kilkus @ the A&N, Chelmsford.
