Da Capo meaning `from the beginning` is a Dublin based band. Formed in 1999 by Stephen Reddy, Fergal Doherty and Stephen Luther, and joined a year later by Rob Power. The band wrote, rehearsed and eventually following the introduction of Barry Ryan, recorded a demo album "Luthas Box" in Luther's garage. The line up was only completed in February of 2001 when drummer, Leigh Mahar made Da Capo a six piece.
Da Capo debuted on the live circuit at the 2001 IMRO showcase tour. Last summer saw the band take part in the Heineken Green Energy Festival, record for 2FMs Fanning sessions, headline numerous Gig City nights in Whelans, accept 2nd place in the Esat Digifone band challenge, and go back to the garage to record the single "Moving Slow".
In September Da Capo were selected by IMRO to perform at the In The City Festival in Manchester.
More recently Da Capo have headlined at The Shelter, Temple Bar Music Centre, Mono @ Whelan's and were finalists in the Bacardi/HotPress song of the year competition on Tom Dunne's Petsounds with "Getting Down". They also backed The Sawdoctors by invitation at UCD and Vicar St.
