I saw The Twilight Sad at Connect
And they were one of the finest acts of the weekend. Considering the line-up this is fine praise.
Although i've never liked the big noisy ending at the end of the set, it's not pulled off particularly well, in my opinion.
Yes!
Great article. Really cool!
Wow.
Wow!
I disagree
I don't think you can be too familiar with their back catalogue if you suggest they've never written an original or interesting tune.
Regardless, I reckon Saturday Superhouse is a lovely nugget of pop rock and murmurings of an epic album leave me satisfied that they're about to surprise me yet again.
:)
I disagree..
..it sounds like The Rasmus and certainly isn't a return to form of The Remote Part and previous :(
haha!
fairly amusing read, nice!
They're a vital band..
..no-one's making music like this. I wish more people loved them, not enough do. The new record is incredibly beautiful and their past material is gripping and intense.
last.fm
should blatantly win
It's silly Heretic isn't on there!
Probably their best song
that's bullshit
the drummer was in the car, and the only reason 'pete the junkie' got in bother was because they drove up a one way street!
get your facts right before spreading shit
yeah but last year
he released a solo album as james figurine :)
one of the best albums..
..i've heard over the last few years, no kidding.
!
this is just stolen from the NME..
this is the worst review i've ever read..
I'm assuming you wanted an opinion on it, seeing as it's treated as work of art.
Dear oh dear.
1,039..
Was a re-release of some EPs yeah but a re-release of THAT came out in 2004 with all the tracks re-mastered etc. and all the bonus gumph mentioned in the article, it was a pretty nice package.
It was released by Lookout! and Kerplunk! was also planned for re-release in a similar manner but since the band told them to shove it for stealing profits it's obviously found it's way to reprise.
But yeah, it's already been re-released, i got it in HMV. I'm guessing those were recalled a while ago.
.
different Orko
the band of this article are far superior as well
Spot on!
:)
.
You're stringing this poll out waaaaaaaay too much
This is a better list..
Than the ones i've read from the top 66, heh.
and i don't follow DiScover..
As it doesn't seem to fit my tastes whatsoever, but that's not your fault ;)
Strange review..
It barely even discusses the album?
what does it matter if they're liked in glasgow?
they're from dundee!
glasgow is full of nonces and posers!
what are you talking about?
there's no agenda here, someone likes a good pop song, get the fuck over yourself.
good review,
I agree :)
only scottish gig
first idlewild gig for ages
small venue
:)
Dundee is long sold out..
..in case anyone stumbles upon this and gets excited :)
Here's two..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umA9kO5Or6M
Radiohead - Knives Out
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC-ow8Ekb3w
Dead or American - Flame Out
I'd have..
Into My Arms by Nick Cave
.
Foo Fighters sound amazing when acoustic, anyone who's heard Everlong Acoustic or Razor or My Hero Acoustic will agree, or at least should.
I actually can't wait for this :)
I don't get..
..why bands call things secret when they clearly aren't!
Secret shows are when you go under a different moniker that your fans might get, but probably not, even if they spent more than 2 secs reading the name
I think..
There's one last tour, you might want to try and find details for people.. The only date I know of so far is
Sun 3 Dec at King Tut's in Glasgow
this may get lost in the huge thread but..
..maybe you could assign someone/two people to cities to update listings for that area.
Loads of people are passionate about their local scene and i'm sure would be more than glad to maintain a listing liek this
.
Allow people to add their own listings and gigs to the site, immediately it becomes a national listings service instead of London and a few token places.
It's weird..
Pearl Jam weren't mentioned seeing as they're one of the best bands on the planet and these gigs may well be their last ever appearance on these shores.
this review was probably written before he went to the festival
Mastodon are outstanding!
can't wait to see them at belladrum :)

that was terribly disappointing
Not your fault.. it's just, I didn't realise they were the dullest band on the planet! Like pulling teeth at points there! You did your best!!
