iPod users: bowing to fashion or filling to capacity?

i've got a 20gb ipod and it's great. i don't listen to everything on there, but who cares?

what really shocks me though is the poor grammar displayed by so many DiS users above. what is this country coming to?

LCD are playing at your house (if your house is a mid-sized rock venue)

i'm tempted to go to the glasgow show. anyone seen them before? are they worth the effort?

Willy Mason - "Love is the bossman. Luck pulls his chariot. "

the guy was plainly interviewed by e-mail, what do you expect?
the last three DiS interviews i've read had virtually identical questions. here, they weren't even typed properly.

The Arcade Fire - Funeral

for anyone that wants it early you can get this on import from amazon.co.uk marketplace - i think the seller is called caiman_usa or something like that. it only cost me about £8.50 including delivery, although it took about a week to get here.

it really deserves its 5 stars.

LCD Soundsystem - "We'll mime along to pre-recorded ringtone versions of all our songs..."

those are much the same questions as in the kt tunstall article, was it done by e-mail? good interview mind.

Re: Bloc Party - Silent Alarm

this modern love is great. why they released so here we are as a single i just don't understand.

Bloc Party - Silent Alarm

i'm over my bloc party obsession after listening to this a few times. it's a good debut and it has a few great songs but i'm sure they'll go on to make better albums. some of the lyrics are pretty poor and it didn't really suck me in.

'compliments' is weak closer too if you ask me. it sounded a lot better on the peel session.

M83 - Before The Dawn Heals Us

i don't know why dis doesn't just do away with its marks system. it seems like nearly all the albums reviewed get 4 out of 5, so what's the point?

plus it would make people focus entirely on the text. i'm sure the good writers would appreciate this.

Kaiser Chiefs forecast fighting and gigging

i've got a promo of i predict a riot if anyone wants it. it's not great.

Q Awards nominees: the usual suspects

paper mags just can't keep up with the internet. we're all spoilt for sources of music info on here. any magazine is gonna be worthless next to a broadband net connection with soulseek or whatever... you can hear anything you want and make up your own mind before buying.
without good writing, which they all sorely lack, printed mags will become less and less relevant. i'd be surprised if Q is still around in 5 years.

Re: The Beastie Boys - Triple Trouble

i second that. they should retire now if this is the standard they've slipped to. the album was ok but i tired of it very quickly.

Re: Mobos: not homophobic, but are they racist?

you're spot-on. i don't understand why it's so readily accepted that all music is of black origin. i think it's because black people have 'got rhythm.'
the mobos aren't racist because they don't offend anyone, and like you said, anyone can win them.

Hundred Reasons take cover

the comedy cover version has become a mark of a rubbish band. apparently snow patrol do beyonce's 'crazy in love.'

Re: Dead! Dead! Dead! - EP

So it is. There was nothing about dogs in it though. Odd.

Doherty endures teenage kicks

I'm absolutely past caring. The name Doherty has become an irritation to my eyes and ears.

Re: Moby - MKLVFKWR

Your point was a valid one, being based on your own opinion. But so was mine, even if it wasn't very well made. I'll drag this on no further. Cheers.

Re: Moby - MKLVFKWR

You were attempting to establish both as forgivably 'dodgy' records and by casting both in the same light, you indirectly set them up for comparison.
18 is an unforgivably weak record, whereas Abbey Road is ace.
Hopefully you can reply to this without being too pompous.

Re: Moby - MKLVFKWR

comparing abbey road to '18,' or anything by moby for that matter, is just absurd.
