*'Gemini Principle'
d'oh
Not sure why this gets a 9/10 review
when D Bridge's far superior 'Gemini Complex' released earlier this year doesn't even get a look in...
Fantastic tracklist.
Will most definitely be picking this up.
there's a bit of a drastic difference there though, isn't there?
Between 'proclaiming it as the best thing since sliced bread' and saying 'Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Chris T-T and Scouting For Girls should be bound and gagged, sat in front of a mirror and made to watch as the oxygen slowly emigrates from their lungs.' in a review that has essentially nothing to do with him.
'yet when someone is actually kind enough to bother writing about'... yeah, well kind.
I swear you only ever post
to give this guy a knocking. Seriously, in any news story or thread about Chris T-T you can guarantee there's a reply from you somewhere stating how he ruined Truck 2007 for you. Why the fuck did you stand there and watch him?!
This song has to have
one of the worst choruses I've ever heard. Seriously dire.
it's A!
An ice-cream man!!!
...I'm too late, aren't I?
Bollocks.
top bloke
totally down to earth and clearly very passionate about what he does.
wasn't mad about their first single
but this song is crazy sexy.
^actuaLOL
would love to see that
AIDS Wolf
are easily as shit as their name suggests.
That is all.
I'm not sure what's meant to be tongue in cheek
and what's serious in this post.
"Pendulum’s truly awful ‘Propane Nightmares’..."
"drum and bass for Guitar Hero idiots."
Hit the nail on the head with that one.
MEGALOLZ
that is all.
Mmm...
"I honestly feel I’ll never do any better than this record."
"I think that’s a common feeling."
That, like a lot of this interview, isn't provocative - just snide.
I like this feature and think it can work when done well (see the Hadouken! one), but the interviewer here has just gone out of his way to make the guy feel uncomfortable. As much as I'm apathetic towards The Subways and their music, I can't help but feel a bit sorry for him, although to his credit he handles it very well and comes across as a far more friendly and mature person than the interviewer.
In summary: Subways 1 - DiS 0
Glad I didn't get tickets yesterday
when Prefuse 73 was announced.
"London is a city without an identity nowadays"
I don't like the way this article completely disregards non-band music e.g. dubstep, grime, drum'n'bass, etc. which are all very much London sounds. Go to FWD>> at Plastic People and you'll soon realise there IS a London sound, it's just not being made by skinny white boys with floppy hair and guitars.
christ on a bike
that Foundations / New England mash up is truly horrendous...
this is the standout album track?
I'll save my money, in that case. I miss Foals with Andrew Mears.
huh?
"So, the Daft Punk hoaxer calling himself ‘Louis La Roche’ has been exposed... Night Facilities from Lowestoft."
"Touché, M. Payne, though DiS still has its suspicions that you’re behind both Aesthetic Theory and Louis La Roche and we’re watching."
Didn't you just say Night Facilities was behind Louis La Roche? Am I missing something? Mat Payne is, as stated, far too good at what he does to be 'knocking out average French filter house."
blatantly just a chancer
trying to make a name for himself with some poor viral marketing. If it is a known and respected dance producer a) he'd be burning some bridges, b) he makes pretty rudimentary stuff.
and the album's called
Sleep Through The Static, although that's probably a humorous DiS joke or something.
Good
Here ends the career of this talentless twat. Hooking up with Chambers again was his only chance of coming up with anywhere half decent on his next record.
Good riddance.
you can like them ironically if you like
but we'll have to agree to disagree on TGUK.
that started ages ago
when everyone realised they're shit.
^
fantastic reply
blindblindblind
is achingly beautiful.
yeah...
bloody hip hop fans...
what a bunch of morons...
dick.
if Fabio took over Grace
it'd be a million times better. Not only is Fabio a better DJ in terms of mixing, he also has the far superior taste, opting for liquid over clownstep. Can't see it happening though, what with him still running Swerve at The End on Wednesdays.
Still, I do feel sorry for G'Rider, even though it is his own fault.
Timothy Taylor's Reading & Leeds festival?
Has a certain ring to it, non?
I'd actually love to see a DiScover
on ghettotech and the such like!
This one's interesting too though. Nice one, lads.
I think they're a great band
and I love the album, but Toothpaste Kisses is the low point of the record for me. I nearly always skip it. I find it unbearably saccharine and twee in the worst way. The video isn't any better.
oooohhh,
how daringly avant-garde. I think he's entirely wrong, though.
seconded
but I can't say I ever disliked garage in the first place. Heartbroken reminds me of going to sweaty under-18 garage raves in Area (for all you Watford high-street fans) when I was 13/14. Good fun they were, too.
okay
I'll rescind on the Au Revoir Simone album, but Dartz and Frank Turner I thought would have automatically made the cut.
As for Field Music producing the second best album of the year, that's more laughable than Au Revoir Simone making one of the fiftieth best albums of the year!
sorry, but...
no Dartz? no Frank Turner? no Au Revoir Simone?
pfft...
because every Kanye West song
for the rest of forever will be about this. So it's relevant... if you care about Kanye West.
I don't care if he's changed it by deed poll
I'm still gonna call him Chris Carter.
have you heard Electro Shock Blues?
if not you really should try and hear it. When you realise the context it's written within it only becomes all the more poignant. I <3 eels and had no idea his dad was Hugh Everett III until reading this article. His many worlds theory is fascinating, if bizarre.
Brixton Academy?
balls...
lolz
"one ahead of utter plank-spankers Eliot Minor, prattling their way through ‘The White One Is Evil’. If I could put a curse on them, I'd make it so they could only breathe inwards, which would mean they got massive really quickly and then died."
that sign off paragraph is fantastic
"The other night, right, Britney wore a ridiculous catsuit. I saw it in London Lite. LOL! She has children."
I fucking hate the London Lite.
I agree entirely
You can tell she's genuinely hurt by all the abuse thrown her way, but doesn't seem anywhere near articulate or clever enough to refute them.
She also comes across as a really stroppy cow with this little gem: "I’ve stopped reading any press, as soon as the album came out I was like ‘end of’ basically." You can just picture her saying it as well. *shudder*
just makes me think of Fly Pan Am
who are, I'm guessing, infinitely better than this will ever be.
you're an idiot
I would normally justify such a statement, but I don't think you warrant it.

Good review, I agree almost totally.
Feels very much like Diplo's '26 Mixes for Cash', except not as good. And 26 Mixes for Cash was far from great. It's still a laugh to stick on in the car though, if only for the bemused expressions on friends faces when 'Smash a Kangaroo' comes on.
