it's all about
belong - october language.
absofuckinglutely beautiful.
the best thing
is sitting down and listening, and reading through all the lyrics. consistently compelling, absolute beauty.
album of the year
so far. so beautiful, especially 'only skin'.
...have continuously
sucked ass since how strange, innocence.
i think there's a secret 'post reply' button that i keep accidently pressing...
...and
EITS
i think maybe
sigur ros - ( ) (although it should be agaetis)
mogwai - happy songs
godspeed - lift yr skinnies
drive-in - relationship
wilco - yankee
bloc patry, even though they shuoldn't be soooo high.
if i had my way, there'd be some six organs of admittance up there...good choice on madonna, easily their best, but i'm another person who wouldn't've put el shino (the shins) so high. and, their other album has more layers for me.
opinions!
were the text bubbles
orignally white - or is my copy just really, really faded?
i don't really get
cookie mountain at the moment, which is weird, because it's a long time since that happened. surprised to see the youthmovie above arcade fire, and island with unicorns...but most of them are exceptional, justified choices. why the fuck is everyone agreeing??
i was
supposed to go to this, completely forgot until the next day. i hate those moments.
that session
is totally bitchin, especially the versions of greedy ugly people and don't flake out on me.
high five
for that. people would have to sit there for so long, and some people would be able to do nothing but rock the fuck out.
word on th street is,
the norwich gig is the place to be. so i hear.
did
i miss something? who is in rehab now? and for what..? i thought he was a nice clean man, with a nice clean piano.
the norwich crew
are in force! we demand a date in the east.
bloody hell,
what a line up in november.
i didn't even know
peter and the wolf was coming to the UK..is there any other dates planned?
surely that would require a huge stick,
rather than a mediocre album...
mogwai support?
come on, that's gotta be bullshit surely?
i didn't
like them so much until i saw an acoustic song at some festival streaming on bbc collective, and it was the tits.
not every album
is supposted to be 'best album evaaaaaaaaa'
wow,
i spelt 'tent' wrong a lot in that post.
i agree,
latitude was brilliant because of all the extras - the lit tent, poetry tend and comedy, as well as all the great music. i realise that maybe all those tents isn't real a possibility for dis, but i think you could definitely get away with a ten housing all three - lots of young poets, comedians, and readings from books..?
they do still sound good,
don't they? that's a bit of a surprise, i was expecting halfbaked blues rock, but this has some good edges.
the band in the woods
were hot, but i have no idea who they were, either. saul williams was a big highlight, as well as lords in the middle of the day and part chimp - although the sound in the obelisk was really terrible at some points.
did anyone see live boggle? absolute genius. josie long was awesome. the best thing about the festival is that you didn't have to see a ton of really shitty bands just to feel like you were being active, you could sit down in the poetry tent, or the lit tent, or learn the charleston in the cabaret tent. more festivals should have charleston class.
you misread,
he said that it was his second for drag city...obviously there's all the previous like dark noontide, manifestation, dust and chimes etcetc...i have more dreams about conversations with chasny than any other person. which is a little strange.
well,
i'm leaving at 5.39 from yarmouth station - that's when hazel's train gets in. we're meeting rachel's car there too, so you could rendevouz there too if you want? unless you're going to be later than that?
our camp shall have a lightning bolt flag,
follow the lightning bolt! i hear there will be skittle flavour vodka there...
read that thing
about you in the guardian colin - very high flying.
just you,
just you.
hell yes,
norwich arts centre. get doooown.
...because
chris moyles is the logical conclusion from jools. we're trying to get away from the shit.
the multi ep thing is kind a good idea,
like with bishop allen's monthy series, and many others like it.
something that people seem to be ignoring
is the fact of reselling albums - there's always something reassuring me in the back of my mind that, if i buy an album and don't like it, i can take it back, and exchange it. i almost never do this, but it's still like a comfort blanket to the big-money-investment of buying an album. i don't think we will have to worry about the death of the physical album until we start seeing discounted mp3s on ebay.
wow,
he said 'splurgin'.
black holes and revelations
that name sounds familiar...do you think they're planning to be the antithesis of the eels?
obviously i'm talking
about kevin shields, not kenin.
i'm thinking that
hopefully primal scream = kenin shields on the axe...
mm mm,
already at norwich.
hefner
rock multiple socks. have you heard darren hayman's solo stuff? there's an amazing bbc session with caravan song, etc.
wow, that was
really strange...i wrote a review for the norwich gig that is so similar to yours, but just different enough to convince me you didn't read mine. are you, like, in my brain?
or
the do' fro'
those americans,
and their skateboards.
AS WELL AS
AN INABILITY TO SPELL PROBABLY
just remembered
the big forum discussion of snakes on a plane. a film title to rival the sheer hilarity of the word 'sparticus'
recently
played through all the monkey islands and grim fandango.
hell, yes.
from what i've heard,
there are many a vocal. but i haven't heard too much.
so does this mean
jeniferever are playing norwich twice in 17 days?
if so, that's hot.
he looks like
he's made of sexy.
so does he actually have decent music taste?
