why not
profile DIS records? comparing this to the fierce panda profile, they are both of equal value and well written - DIS is as important as any other indie label. why leave them out because of the obvious connections to the website?

Re: what about small bands
Smaller bands (and even the bigger ones...) should release whatever - if its good and honest and not about getting money for nothing then singles, ep's, albums, whatever are all viable and acceptable things to release. And isn't easier to get your single played on Radio 1 or Xfm or whatever as the music researchers/presenters won't have the time or patience to sit through an album of material to get to the good stuff - singles/eps have their place and are really important.
