Entirely mis-qutoing him, where does he equate the lack of movements to hip hop being "bad"?
Where is technology mentioned, except by you?
I'm all for articles that provoke debate, there have been some interesting issues raised on DiS news before, this isn't one of them.
A thought out article on the decreasing emphasis of the hip hop movement, exploration of less obvious movements.
Do not just misquote someone in a Daily Mail style purely for reaction.
it's lazy trolling
you might as well post "Band we used to like and champion is now a bit gay? DiScuss?" Oh wait..
Not really.
Only upload the content you own copyright too, but only in regions you have ownership for, oh and it can't be shared.
Oh and you have to actually enforce this or get sued off the internet.
(I'm assuming you're not being sarcastic as most people on DiS are generally a bit dense)
Castle Donington
yea
hi, could you maybe use a sane video format?
http://streamos.warnermusic.com/qtime/wmiuk/jeremywarmsley/Losemycool_lo.mov is broked even if you hit it directly.
It's great to see DiS covering these kinds of topics
They're usually
On Muxtape: It's great. Incredibly simple and easy to use, does exactly what it needs to and nothing more.
I do find it interesting, and a bit of a shame that, that this kind of creativity is so _vastly_ more difficult for music sites already involved with established labels to do this kind of thing.
Try and "go legit" is a very double edged sword.
but it's still pretty illegal
usually bodies like the RIAA are pretty quick to HULK SMASH things.
I'm surprised it's not faced more legal issues given it's huge popularity.
ps: I'm reading that book at the moment, excellent in some places, but feels a little out of touch in others.
Tell me DiS writers,
How does it feel to be so incredibly behind the times?
Err. No. That's not how it works.
Also, by trying to have it blocked he's raised the profile of the video and ensured it's widespread availability.
If he wasn't such a Luddite I'd call it cunning, but he's really just re-treading the steps of major labels circa 5 years ago
Utter-fucking-toss.
Maybe if your total exposure to chiptunes is... well, pretty much just Crystal Castles.
The fact they're "borrowing" heavily from a scene they aren't even part of is quite sad.
(^5 for your username though)
same idea? sure. identical execution? no.
Stop being silly.

There's a video comparing a chip tunes track (by Lo-Bat) and a track off their myspace, it goes beyond sampling really.
Especially as the original track was released under Creative Commons Non profit attribution (i think), pretty gash.
This + the t-shirt business and some other allegations of track theft has put me right off them.
shit
that would make an awesome video. they should have done that.
imagine yannis covered in bling and surrounded by booty-shaking-bitches. amazing.
Or for those in london
who booked them already.
Hey! thanks ticket companies for being greedy cunts!
Balderdash.
You're right about one thing though, this is a lazy review.
eh
why so?
Much better
Thank you.
i just got back
from the interactive/film bit of SXSW, which was last week, and everyone i spoke to said there are more free parties and gigs than you can shake a stick at
next year i'll definately be going to music too
a badge is pretty pricey though, i think in the region of $600, which is steep compared to ia/film
7:30?
Very unlike the luminaire, it's usually 7:30 doors, which actually means 8.
Crikey i might have to leave work on time.
You're both idiots.
It's suprisingly helpful to set character encoding set for a web site.
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
Firefox is a lot more forgiving than IE in this respect, neither is really right or wrong. The site just isn't giving enough information that it should.
What's more concerning is the sudden spree of flash adds that are A/ epilepsy inducing or B/ actually slow my browser down substantially.
Someone sort it out.
.
shock horror, elitist dis'ers judge and write off previously liked track because it got popular and/or was used in adverts

I was thinking "Wow, this is a pretty insightful news piece on DiS, yay", and then found that, for shame.
